We utilize an advanced portfolio management system enabling us to effectively manage a client’s assets held at most major banks and brokerage firms. However, we have three preferred custodians: Charles Schwab & Co.,Inc., TD Waterhouse Institutional Services, and our affiliate, Altavista Trust Company.

We are particularly proud to offer custody and trustee services through our subsidiary, Altavista Trust Company, a division of National Independent Trust Company. Altavista Trust is a North Carolina based and managed operating division of a nationally chartered trust institution that currently has over one billion dollars under administration. Altavista Trust is the only independent North Carolina based trust institution regulated by the United States Comptroller of the Currency, the same body that regulates national banks. We are also a correspondent institution of Northern Trust Company, one of the world’s leading trust institutions.
As officers of Altavista Trust we are bonded and insured. We can serve as trustee or co-trustee of any new or existing trust. Recent bank mergers and employee turnover has negatively impacted the service that many clients have received from the larger bank trust departments. If desired, we will work closely with clients and their counsel to establish new trusts and to move existing trusts to Altavista Trust Company.
